Some Projects and Pictures from Last Year's Classes
Some of the gardening activities that the class did last year included:
Planting Zinnias
- Prepping the beds to get them ready for seeds and transplants.
- Planting pumpkin and sunflower seeds to bring home and also use for the garden.
- Transplant Zinnias into the long flower bed. The Zinnias provide cut flowers for camp students throughout the summer.
- Transplant impatiens into pots.
- Plant a container herb garden to bring home.
- Make toad houses to encourage beneficial toads into the students home gardens.
- Plant Scarlet Runner Beans- these are the vines that climb up twine at the back of the building. They have great flowers that attract hummingbirds all summer long. Unfortunately the vines also attracted something else which you can read about here.
